Livin' the Dream 2!

Penny and Mer were at it again...fishing in the freezing cold when most sane people were huddled around fireplaces drinking tea and eating crumpets. But it was Penny's birthday so fishing was her dream for the day. Karen packed a yummy lunch for her birthday-Pen and Mer, and they headed out to Lake Washington with Pen's boat in tow.

Penny forgot her glasses and the wind on the lake was hard and cold. But Penny is nothing if not resourceful, so she whipped out her swimming goggles to protect her eyeballs. And they went very well with her waterproof fedora. Livin' the dream baby!

After a freezing day of fishing (there was only fishing, no catching) Penny headed home where Karen had gathered family friends to sing happy birthday and eat scrumptious pumpkin cheese cake. Happy birthday Penny!!

Penny and Mer headed out on the sound in Pen's boat in building seas with the intention of catching some coho salmon. But all they caught were waves in the face and a spirited boat ride! But hey, they were "livin' the dream!"

Karen is very excited that her yukon golds are looking good! The tomatoes are great too. She's quite the urban farmer.
